Health & Safety Awards 2013

MPA is pleased to invite entries to its prestigious Health and Safety Best Practice Awards Scheme 2013.

The 2013 Scheme is open to all with an interest in health & safety. MPA welcomes entries from every organization in the supply chain, including MPA Members; non-Members; Contractors; Consultants; Manufacturers; Suppliers; Regulators; etc. .

The day-to-day Management for the Scheme is being handled by Ian Gibson, at the MPA. Please see the
guidelines for completing the entry form futher below.

PLEASE NOTE: The Deadline for receipt of Entries is: 22nd March 2013.

If your Entry is selected for a Judging Visit, the Judge will want to “walk the talk” and discuss your
Entry with Operatives, as well as Managers. Please consider the items below when completing your entry.

1.  Include indicators of commitment by your company

2.  Describe efforts to influence behavioural aspects

3.  Give credit to whoever came up with the good ideas

4.  Indicate effectiveness of control measures (engineering/management)

5.  Describe method(s) and effectiveness of monitoring systems

6.  Briefly identify problem areas and your priorities for action

7.  State actual levels of recorded improvement, if possible

8.  Include evidence that existing good practice has been taken on board, accepted, and acted upon by ALL relevant workers.

9. Explain briefly how you have communicated the benefits to others

10. Confirm that your good idea/innovation is in regular/routine usage

Once you have submitted your entry you will see an Entry Reference Number. This must be quoted in ALL contact re this Scheme
