About this site

This website contains a multitude of best practice ideas, a database of incident alerts, toolbox talks and the latest on the quarrying industry’s hot topics. Nearly all of the best practice ideas come from the Mineral Products Association’s annual Health & Safety Best Practice Awards Scheme.

Safequarry.com is one element of a package of resources that encourages the sharing of health and safety knowledge across the quarrying and quarry products industry. "Sharing Good Practice" is the name of a periodically published series of hard copy guides, each containing illustrated, traceable examples of good practice.

This site was originally produced by the Quarry Products Association (now a constituent of the MPA) with substantial support from the Mineral Industry Research Organisation (MIRO) and a range of other partners (see below). MIRO distributes funding that comes from a government tax on aggregates through its Mineral Industry Sustainable Technology Programme. This website is a now maintained by the MPA.

We would welcome feedback on your experience of using this website and any suggestions for improvement. Please click here to email your comments.

The Mineral Products Association would like to acknowledge the extensive support of the following in this project:
