| Driving in quarries training and assessing initiatives |
An in-depth process is undertaken to ensure that drivers on the site are working safely and according to the same guidelines. Drivers are initially shown a presentation on how to drive safely in quarries before being taken on a drive-round of the site under the instructions of a safety officer.
Amongst the things covered are:
- vehicle checks covering tyres, lights and signs of wear and tear
- speed limit awareness
- consideration of other drivers and people on the site.
With drivers understanding the same driving practices it helps create a safer environment on site.
