Description
Although significant training and seminars were being held for senior and site managers, often supervisory grades missed out on training due to the requirement to maintain competent management coverage for each site.
A conference / seminar format specifically for supervisory staff was developed. The aim was both to provide competency training and to achieve direct involvement of this vitally important group of site based personnel in discussions on key safety issues.
The conferences are ½ day in duration and a combination of small workshops, presentations and discussions. They are held every 6 months. Attendees are spilt into teams of 4, ensuring that there is a mix of experience, knowledge and operation type. This is designed to maximise involvement, interaction and exchange of knowledge and ideas and for the supervisors to develop a network of new contacts.
